  • JK Rowling: Suddenly, light started shining through the window!
  • J.R.R. Tolkien: The window, which hanged on the wall, softly letting it's curtains dance around the room, suddenly brought a bright light into the house.
  • Douglass Adams: Quite unexpectedly, light shined through the window in the room, which was less surprising when you think about the fact that's what windows are for.
  • Lemony Snicket: Light shined through the window abruptly.
  • abruptly, usually means unexpected, or sudden. For instance, if your mother picked you up from school after telling you twice about doing that, it would not be abruptly. However, if someone were to tell you your house burned down and your parents were dead without telling you to sit down first, it would very much be called, abruptly.

Anonymous asked:

Do you feel that way about others who are older than you and may still enjoy and wear alternative fashion?

No! It’s not the fashion at all actually :-) It was my attitude-I thought I was ~so deep~ and really just made an arse out of myself. I actually still like the fashion though I don’t wear it anymore.

welcome to my predominantly women’s college, where we bond by cutting each other’s hair off for free

wait you did this too? last year my roommate and i cut each other’s hair whenever either of us needed a trim. i’m white and she’s black too, it wasn’t hard to learn each other’s hair type (which is why i don’t get why so many white hairdressers say that they can’t cut black hair-i’ve got the fine motor skills of a kindergartner snorting sleeping gas and i got it down). i think we both did a good job. no one could tell that my haircut wasn’t professionally done and her hairdresser said that i did a good job. i also know like 5 other simmons students who have cut each other’s hair. is this an unofficial school tradition? :P

“Summer gathered in the weather, the wind had the proper touch, the breathing of the world was long and warm and slow. You had only to rise, lean from your window, and know that this indeed was the first real time of freedom and living, this was the first morning of summer.”
